Shadow Blog Dissed by Mozzie Committee (Satire)

Recently it was decided that the Semi-Annual Mozzie Awards could be put together for the first time since the Great Crash of October 2006, as a Year End Project. There were several new award categories added for this year, including a new category for “Best DMOZ Unofficial Blog”.  This new category was meant for blogs other than the official DMOZ Blog, that were still centered on DMOZ.  Although this blog was nominated along with several other blogs (one nomination for several blogs at once), the Mozzie Committee apparently missed the nomination that contained it. So rather than this and several other blogs being up for a vote, only a couple of blogs were presented to the editors for the vote.  So unfortunately, there will be no “Best DMOZ Unofficial Blog” award to post up on my Awards page this year. I still have the nomination and a couple of other nominations I am proud of though. Check out my Awards page in a couple of weeks to see my nominations and/or any awards I receive.

And Now The Real Story :

The committee (comprised of very good editors) did a fabulous job putting together the year end awards project. Kudos to them for the hard work, they accomplished a lot in a short amount of time and I know they did their best to get it right. So I am not really offended in anyway because this was overlooked. Rather, its kind of entertaining to poke fun at the Mozzies given their intent was to be fun in first place. Besides, I didn’t have anything better to Blog about today anyway.
