Well its been a month since I last posted and even longer since I last posted anything of substance. Of course that is still 100% better than the Official DMOZ Blog.
I haven’t made a significant contribution to either DMOZ or BOTW in the last few weeks, just haven’t had the time too. I logged in briefly today, in response to a feedback that was in my in-box for 3 days before I managed to check it. I poked around briefly to see what was new and who was hanging around. I also noticed a headline in search terms: “BOTW in talks to buy DMOZ”
I must admit, I laughed out loud when I read it and its a good thing I wasn’t drinking milk at the time. It is simply amazing what some will do in order to attract attention, even resorting to name dropping DMOZ and making up so called “rumors” about it to get hits on their own sites.
It is particularly laughable when the perpetrator of some of the fake information, is someone who has repeatedly made up stories and stretched truths (beyond recognition) for their own personal benefit before and been called on it. Yet, the tactic continues to work as the insanely ignorant still believe that the source of this mis-information is some kind of ‘expert’ in the ways of such things. I am somewhat familiar with both BOTW and DMOZ (
) and this is a load of garbage IMO. The bottom line is that this ‘rumor’ is only a dirty tactic to drum up traffic and to imply credibility in certain sources where there is none warranted.
