07/30/07 -DMOZ Editor Server Down Time
Staff has notified editors that beginning Monday July 30, 2007, that the editors server will be offline while its being moved to a new storage platform. During this time, the editors server will be “Read Only” and the task is expected to take approximately 72 hours to complete.Public Access and search will still be functioning, however anything requiring editor server access will be down. This includes not only editing, but also URL suggestions, Update requests, and New Editor Applications as well. Things should be back up and better than ever later this week.

02/23/2007 – Update
Since regaining editor access a couple of months ago, most functions such as editor applications, site suggestions, abuse reporting, feedback, etc have slowly returned.

12/18/2006 – Update From Resource-Zone:

UPDATE: December 18, 2006 – Editors have regained access to the editors server and the public pages are now up-to-date. However, the public ODP scripts (including site suggestion, update listing, editor application, and abuse reporting) are still not available and we currently have no ETA for their return.

10/25/2006 – Great Crash
DMOZ is currently experiencing Technical Difficulties with its servers. Currently the public pages are static copies and editors are unable to access the editor servers. Also scripted pages such as site suggestions, updates, and editor applications are not working. Editors are unable to review sites or applications at this time. The problem has been reported but there is no ETA as to when it will be repaired. Here is the message found at Resource-Zone:

We are currently experiencing technical problems with our servers. Currently the public pages are static pages that have been generated from a backup. This means:

(1) the public pages do not reflect the most recent updates made to the directory;

(2) scripted pages, including site suggestion and application forms, are not functioning; and

(3) editors are unable to check the status of new editor applications.
