Well while perusing some categories tonight, I stumbled upon another cruddy URL update request. It never ceases to amaze me how bad some of these update requests really are. Especially from Real Estate site owners. After updating the URL more appropriately, I remembered that our Editor Bookmarks are not currently available publicly. I am still not sure if this is an intended change, or yet another buggy side effect of the 2.0 upgrade that isn’t yet worthy enough to warrant correcting. When I created my public Bookmarks, I intended on keeping what I feel are important links for both new editors and editor applicants together and easily accessible for anyone interested or in need.

Since the Bookmarks are currently in limbo, I have added Shadow’s Bookmarks to this blog. While not as nice as having them on DMOZ in my Bookmarks, at least they may serve to help someone who stumbles upon my ramblings here and wonder what I am talking about. Fat chance I know, I mean who actually stumbles on this blog right? LOL traffic numbers indicate that there are a few more than I would have guessed, for what ever reason. In any regards, I do hope those needing this information find it useful.

DMOZ Editing Hiatus

Wow its been sometime since I posted anything relevant. I guess my drive has been pretty lacking lately. Actually I felt like a fossil most days following the great upgrade at DMOZ.

I have been far from staying up to date, in fact it was almost 4 months since I last edited (I think) but stuck my head in today. Sheesh haven’t missed much. Still seems really buggy and not real “fossil friendly”. I did edit around a little, and I do really miss it. Seems a lot of good editors are MIA though, which really sucks for the project.

I think I would like to dedicate a few hours a week and see what I can accomplish but not sure what I would like to work on. Maybe some category building in my favorite areas, but also I think I would like to refresh myself on the app processing and see if I couldn’t infuse some fresh blood to the project. I miss the drive and enthusiasm I had and that which i saw in so many others that is now diluted.

Think I will try and see what I can come up with. Any other “fossils” have any ideas? Thoughts and ideas are greatly appreciated.

Ok so I have added an Official Shadow575 Facebook page. Cheesy I know, but hey its just as easy (maybe easier) than blogging. And this way it keeps my rant lengths short atleast. Anyway, just figured I would post a link here even though there is nothing up and running really yet. Will work on it when I can.

I was so busy yesterday that I didn’t have a chance to do something important. Making up for it a few hours late though.
